The short version
- We use Google Analytics to see how people use this site. It sets cookies but doesn’t store your IP address.
- If you email or call us, we use what you send only to reply and to work with you.
- We don’t sell or rent your personal information.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, Google Analytics doesn’t load at all.
Who we are
This site, getcrowdcontrol.com, is run by Crowd Control Digital (Craig Pennings LLC), a digital marketing company in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Crowd Control Digital, and “you” means anyone who visits the site or contacts us through it.
What we collect
Information you send us
This site has no forms and no accounts. If you email or call us, we receive whatever you choose to share, such as your name, email address, phone number, business details and your message.
Information collected automatically
When you visit, Google Analytics collects information about your visit, including:
- Pages you view, how long you stay and how you found the site, such as a search engine or another website
- Your device type, browser, operating system and screen size
- Your approximate location, at about the city level
Google says Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Like most websites, our hosting provider may also keep standard server logs, which can include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies
Google Analytics uses first-party cookies to tell visits apart. We don’t use any other tracking or advertising cookies on this site.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another | 2 years |
_ga_<ID> | Google Analytics | Remembers the state of your current visit | 2 years |
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works the same without them.
How we use it
- To reply to you and, if we work together, to provide our services
- To understand which pages are useful and improve the site
- To measure whether our own marketing is bringing the right people here
- To keep the site secure and working properly
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a service from Google LLC. Google processes the data it collects on our behalf, under its own terms. To learn more, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s privacy policy.
Google Analytics keeps detailed visit data only for the retention period set in our account, then deletes it automatically. Summary reports, which don’t identify individual visitors, may be kept longer.
Google signals is turned off in our account, so Google Analytics doesn’t link your visits to your Google account. If we ever use visit data for advertising, such as remarketing, we’ll update this policy first. You can manage ad personalization across Google anytime at My Ad Center.
Your choices
- Opt out of Google Analytics on every site with Google’s Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Turn on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser. This site checks for both signals, and if it finds either one, Google Analytics never loads.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- Ask us about your information. Email us to see, correct or delete what you’ve sent us. Depending on where you live, your state’s privacy law may give you more rights, and we’ll honor them.
Sharing
We don’t sell or rent personal information, and we don’t share it for anyone else’s marketing. We share it only:
- With service providers who help us run the business, such as Google Analytics, our website host and our email provider, and only so they can do that work
- When the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our clients or the public
- If the business is ever sold or merged, in which case this policy would still apply to information collected under it
How long we keep it
We keep emails and call notes for as long as we’re talking or working together, and afterward as long as we need them for records, taxes or legal reasons. Google Analytics data follows the time limits described above.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and we limit who can access our accounts and tools. No method of storing or sending data online is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
Children
This site is for businesses. It isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent us personal information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Other websites
This site mentions or shows websites we’ve built for clients. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this policy doesn’t cover them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
